What Makes Us So Extraordinary?

Morbrook Institute's university-educated licensed and pre-licensed therapists, are carefully selected for their sensitive insight, empathy, personal values, life experiences, and genuine concern for people. They provide superior clinical service.

The Institute's role is akin to that of a teaching hospital, providing a venue for emerging and established therapists comparable to the training of physicians. Pre-licensed Marriage Family Therapists at Morbrook Institute practice their new skills under the watchful guidance of licensed supervisors while accumulating the 3,000 hours of field experience required for State of California licensure. Morbrook Institute's Licensed Mariiage Family Therapists are seasoned clinicians with additional training in a particular expertise.

Morbrook Institute is the only therapist training center that requires more of its interns than does the State of California. Before ever seeing a single client, all of Morbrook Institute's therapists must do the following :

  1. Meet specific qualifications
  2. Complete rigorous and thorough training
  3. Pass an examination on California Mental Health Law and Ethics
  4. Pass an examination on procedures
  5. Complete additional training in at least one area of expertise

These higher standards and more extensive training attracts best applicants. If accepted into Morbrook Institutue, they know will have to be more dedicated and more serious than their counterparts, and that their training will take more time. The extra time and considerably more effort are worth it, though, because the rigorous training makes them better therapists.

Morbrook Institute's cleints, in turn, get the very best treatment available.

Today, Morbrook Institute has a reputation among professionals and community members alike for its high-quality, affordable counseling, free and affordable community workshops, and the most advanced and practical counseling techniques and methods around. During its 20+ year life of service to our community, the Institute has become a Camarillo institution.
